Now more and more manufacturers use black masterbatch coloring, which is due to the fact that black masterbatch coloring has the advantages of environmental protection, non-toxic, tasteless, smoke-free, smooth and shiny product surface and stable solid color, good toughness, and no color spots and color lines, which not only reduces costs, saves additives, but also reduces plant site pollution. There are many people who want to know how such a black masterbatch is produced, and now share the four major production methods of black masterbatch:
1. Method: As the name suggests, it is a production method that uses color paste in the production of black masterbatch, that is, through three-roller grinding, a layer of low molecular protective layer is coated on the surface of the pigment. The ground fine color paste is then mixed with the carrier resin, and then plasticized by a two-roll plasticizer (also called a double-roll open mill), and then granulated by a single or twin screw extruder.
2. Rinsing method: The pigment, water and dispersant are sanded to make the pigment particles less than 1μm, and the pigment is transferred to the oil phase through the phase transfer method, and then dried to obtain a black masterbatch. Organic solvents are required for phase transfer, as well as corresponding solvent recovery devices.
3. Kneading method: After mixing the pigment with the oily carrier, the pigment is used to flush the pigment from the aqueous phase into the oil phase by using the lipophilic characteristics of the pigment. At the same time, the surface of the pigment is coated by an oily carrier to make the pigment disperse and stabilize and prevent the pigment from condensing.
Fourth, metal soap method: the pigment after grinding the particle size reaches about 1μm, and at a certain temperature to add soap, so that the surface layer of each pigment particle is evenly moistened by the soap, forming a layer of saponification solution, when the metal salt solution is added and the saponification layer on the surface of the pigment chemical reaction to form a protective layer of metal soap (magnesium stearate), so that the pigment particles after grinding will not cause flocculation, and protect a certain fineness.
Different black masterbatch production methods have different advantages, which should be selected according to the characteristics of their own enterprises.
